Hi! My name is
Corina Portillo, BSc, LVT, CCAT
I have always been passionate about caring for animals, and it has been that passion what has led my career.
In 2012 I completed my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science through New Mexico State University, under the Pre-Vet track, along with two minors in Chemistry and Wildlife Science. During my college years, one of the veterinary clinics I worked for provided integrative care to their patients, a combination of Western and Chinese Veterinary medicine, an experience that sparkled my interest in alternative therapies.
To further my education, I completed my Associates in Veterinary Technology at Colorado Mountain College, in 2016. Then I relocated to the Dallas, TX area (not going to lie, seeking some warmth!), obtained my state licensure, and worked at a fast-paced general practice in Sachse assisting four amazing veterinarians for eight years. My passion for alternative therapies led me to obtain my Certification as a Companion Animal Rehabilitation Therapist through North Carolina State University and Northeast Seminars in 2024, and to complete some coursework of Traditional Chinese Medicine through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.
On my spare time I can be found working out at the gym or reading a good book at home. I also recently started baking, which I've found very challenging! But what I love the most is spending time with my husband and our spicy chiweenie, Cheyenne.
Creating Momentum towards recovery and proper movement is all about taking small but consistent steps
How It Works
1
After your primary veterinarian has obtained a diagnosis, or a differential, of your pet’s condition, discuss if rehabilitation with therapeutic exercises would be beneficial for your pet’s condition.
2
When your veterinarian prescribes rehabilitation for your pet, they need to submit the referral form provided on this website, including all the pertinent information about your pet's condition.
3
Once I have received your primary veterinarian’s records and review them, I will contact you to schedule our initial consultation. In the meantime, I start developing an initial draft of your pet’s rehabilitation plan.
